Here at Costume Empire, we take pride in trying to help every customer achieve that dream costume. From our own experiences we know that it can be difficult to find a shop that sells exactly what you want, made to a high quality standard.
We work closely with our customers through out the whole design process, so that when you get your costume, you know it’s what you wanted. From dance-wear to historically accurate dresses, there’s no end to what can be achieved.
Costume Empire is a joint effort ran by Denise and Charlotte, a mother and daughter duo, who share a passion for sewing. Starting in a spare room at home making dance-wear and cosplay for friends and family we have grown and developed our skills. Now we make costumes, onesies, dance-wear and other fun and challenging costume pieces for everyone.
If you’re interested in getting your own custom made costume, message us through the contact option at the top of the page.
We employ a three step process to ensure that you have the best experience possible as a customer with little fuss or time wasting.
Step one: Consultation.
This process can be as long or short as you wish. During it we will ask you some basic questions to get to know you and your costume. It will include standard things like size, budget, and time scale, but may also include fabric types, and embellishments, or alterations. There is no fee charged for this, and we can talk to you via email, social media or even in person.
Step two: Mock – up
At this stage we begin testing your costume. For dance-wear this could be basic alterations to allow for growth and fit of the costume. However for cosplay this may be to test the limits of our knowledge! We make a basic costume out of cotton or similar fabric to ensure fit and comfort for the customer. Depending on the costume, there may be a second mock-up made from a cheaper alternative of the main fabric. This will be to test things such as drape, weight, and embellishments which can all alter the fit of the costume. There is a fee charged for this process, however it will be included in the final price.
Step three: Costume.
Finally we begin making your costume! Should you wish it we will send you progress pictures of your costume, or ask you about any changes that need to be applied during the sewing stage. Once your costume is finished we will send it out to you via a tracked parcel. This ensures that you know where it is at all times and minimises the chances of your costume being lost in the post!
